In an era when most people are judged by the speed of their operating system or the power of their network, many schools have had to sacrifice their darkrooms and upgrade their technology space to keep up with the times,despite the shudders of students and teachers alike. Yet some photography programs still see the value in keeping the old while embracing the new. We talked to teachers and lab managers at programs across the country about the scope of their darkrooms and the continued relevance of traditional techniques. Most of these schools have fabulous computer labs, too, but...........................

I know I've said good things about HP5 in the past, but I just made an 8x10 print from an HP5 neg (645 format) that was exposed at 1600 and processed in Tmax developer.
