We're thrilled to announce our ILFORD Photo USA Student film photography contest.
With both darkroom printing and scanned film categories (along with a fantastic teacher prize), and some amazing prizes to be won from both us, ILFORD Photo, and our amazing sponsors, Ricoh Imaging Americas Corporation, UsedPhotoPro, Peak Design, Negative Supply LLC, The Darkroom, Photogenic Supply Co and SISSILU, there are plenty of reasons to get involved and start shooting!
Contest Dates:
The contest is now open for entries and will closes April 15, 2025. All entries must be received no later than April 15, 2025 to qualify.
Contest Categories
B&W Darkroom Print:
With a photograph you captured on ILFORD or Kentmere B&W film, print your best copy in the darkroom on 8x10 ILFORD or Kentmere traditional B&W paper.
- 1 Grand Prize and 1 Runner Up – Open to students of all ages.
B&W Scanned Film Photograph:
With a photograph you captured on ILFORD or Kentmere B&W film, scan the negative and apply minimal editing to remove dust and adjust exposure and contrast – like you could do in a traditional darkroom.

Who Can Enter
Students who are enrolled in a school, college, or university in the United States at the date of submission. If a winner is 16 years of age or younger, they will be required to provide consent from a parent or legal guardian before the prize is released.
Judges:
Winners will be decided by photographers: Sissi Lu, Caleb Knueven, Trevor Lee, and employees of HARMAN technology.
