FIRSTLY, TELL US THE STORY BEHIND THIS IMAGE. WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO SHOOT IT?
I live in Yosemite. Some friends and family came to visit. We decided to hike up four mile trail to Glacier Point that day. We got caught in a thunderstorm. Had a great time in the rain. The weather and clouds were very dramatic with light rays popping through. Great day in the mountains. I always bring my camera along to capture raw moments like that.
DID YOU COME ACROSS ANY CHALLENGES?
Other than trying to keep my camera dry and not get struck by lightning, things were pretty smooth that day.
WHAT PROCESS DID YOU USE?
I just used the natural lighting like always.
HOW DID YOU PROCESS IT?
I send all my film to Negative Lab in Southern California. I really trust them and they always do great work.

About The Author
Justin Olsen
I’m 33 years young. I was raised in Northern California with my three brothers in a small town called Cottonwood. Our parents were very active with us, constantly going on camping trips, road trips and other adventures. I was always outside, playing in the mountains or boating on lakes. Since 2016 I’ve lived in Yosemite National Park and other outdoor areas just kinda popping around depending on the season and what I want to do. It’s opened my mind for a way of living and traveling around the world. Since I have been here I have been all around the states and world climbing, mtn biking, skiing, dirt biking, etc and taking photos along the way. I took a film shooting class in high school but I was terrible at it. It wasn’t until I moved to Yosemite that I decided to pick up a camera again. I was inspired to start capturing the beautiful landscapes and incredible people and athletes in the mountains. I really started to get the feel of photography and film and have been shooting ever since.
