ILFORD PHOTO ANNOUNCE THE UK WINNER OF THEIR 2020/21 STUDENT PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION 'DARKNESS & LIGHT'
When we launched the 11th Annual ILFORD PHOTO Student Photography Competition in May 2020 the UK was in lockdown and we were all coming to terms with the impact of the global COVID-19 pandemic.
For schools and colleges, this meant closure, online learning, or restrictions on darkroom courses. Despite the disruption that students have faced we were delighted with the quality and quantity of prints we received to our ‘darkness & light’ theme with over 200 entries from 20 different school and colleges.
The Winner
As always, the challenge of picking a winner was not easy but we are pleased to announce that the winner, and recipient of the title of ‘ILFORD PHOTO UK Student Photographer of the Year 2020/21’, has been awarded to Lucas Edevane from King’s Ely School in Cambridge.
Lucas’ image was captured on ILFORD FP4 Plus and superbly printed on ILFORD MULTIGRADE RC Deluxe paper.
Lucas has helped to extend King’s Ely School and tutor Antonio Longo’s winning streak to 4 years. Once again demonstrating King’s Ely’s ongoing commitment and passion to analogue photography and a consistently high standard of learning.
Runner Up
This year’s runner up prize goes to Tia Ungar from Rickmansworth School. Her beautiful, well shot image was also printed also made using ILFORD MULTIGRADE RC Deluxe paper.
Once again, we would like to thank all the students, tutors, schools, and colleges for taking part and helping to maintaining such a high standard of photographic education.
The details of the 2021/22 ILFORD PHOTO student competition will be announced shortly on our website and social channels.
