After another year of record entries HARMAN technology Ltd announces the winners of their UK Student Competition 2015 "Saturday Night at the Movies"
At just short of 1000 entries, it took the judges several hours to decide which image should be selected as the winner.
The standard was so high this year that the judges felt they couldn’t limit their choices to a single runner-up and have instead awarded four runners-up prizes along with the winner.
The title of ‘ILFORD PHOTO Student Photographer of the Year 2015 ‘ is awarded to Olivia Whitfield from Leeds College of Art for her print entitled ‘Amelie’s love’ which she shot on ILFORD HP5+ film.
Erin Quinn from West Herts Colllege, Edward Alabaster from Anglia Ruskin University, and Sian Lewis and Emma Lyman from Leeds College of Art have all been awarded runner-up prizes in the Darkroom category.
As well as a title, the winner receives an award certificate, £100 to spend at harmanexpress.com and will have their winning image professionally mounted and framed by ILFORD LAB DIRECT. The runners-up also receive certificates and £75 to spend at harmanexpress.com.
Leeds College of Art took the college prizes of £125 to spend on www.harmanepress.com for submitting the most eligible entries.
Peter Elton, Managing Director at HARMAN said, "The image composition and creativity on show in these entries was tremendously impressive. Not only in the worthy winners, but in many, many others. It's exciting to see that the current crop of budding photographers has the potential to reach the top. I am also very pleased that they clearly continue to receive College and University tuition of the highest quality."
