My Current Journey

My 4x5 inch documentary photography in Iceland once again immersed me in the fascinating world of this unique country. But this time with a new perspective, coloured by memories of my previous trip there a decade ago. I had the opportunity to explore Iceland then, and the memories of that unforgettable time accompanied me on my current journey.

An Explorer In a Foreign World

Ten years ago I experienced Iceland with a sense of adventure and no expectations. As I explored the breathtaking landscapes, volcanic formations and endless coastline, I felt like an explorer in a foreign world. But now, with a more mature outlook and a deeper understanding of the world around me, I have returned to explore the beauty and mystery of Iceland on a deeper level.

Embarked On a Photographic Journey

With my Chamonix 45-F2 camera, the impressive Schneider Xenotar 135mm f3.5 lens and the timeless ILFORD FP4+ film, I embarked on a photographic journey through the landscapes of Iceland. I knew from the start that I wanted to capture this country in black and white. Every click of the shutter was not only an act of creativity, but also a tribute to my experiences. The experiences that have made Iceland a land of eternal longing for me.

The Beauty Was Unchanged

It was October, the air was cold and windswept, but the beauty of Iceland was unchanged. Amidst the solitude of nature and the paradoxical abundance of tourists, I found myself in a country full of longing and magic. The mystical atmosphere of the Icelandic landscapes captivated me and allowed me to immerse myself in a world full of contrasts and contradictions.

The Essence Of Iceland

The majestic glaciers, the wild coastlines, the bubbling geysers and the lonely fjords - every corner of Iceland told a story of the past and the present, of nature and the people who inhabit this land. Each photograph I took was a snapshot of these stories, an attempt to capture the
essence of Iceland in a single moment.

The Land Of Longing

Iceland, the land of longing, remains forever anchored in my memories. Because in the pictures I took, the beauty and magic of Iceland lives on, even though time passes and the landscapes are mostly changed by people.
